Abstract

The introduction of cosmic time in cosmology is subject to some constrants, first and foremost its model-dependence and its statistical character. It then becomes interesting to inquire into its physical meaning, that is, whether it has some sort of physical existence or is simply a conventional posit, not unlike the choice of a reference frame in the special theory of relativity.
